Frosty mod manager for battlefront 23/17/2024 ![]() Before starting with the 5 steps below you have to open your Origin launcher, right click on Battlefront in your Game Library, click on "Game Properties", go to the "Advanved Launch Options" tab and type "-datapath " followed by the path to your "ModData" folder in your Battlefront install folder in quotation marks (I think you have to have launched Battlefront with Frosty at least once for the folder to appear, I don't know how to help if you are not able to get that folder to appear). ![]() I found the solution for Origin but you can try if it works for Steam too. I also ran into that issue and after trying many many methods I have finally worked out a solution that works for me 100% of the time WITHOUT sacrificing the EpicGames Launcher Personally, I got the older version I'm using from here, though I'm sure there are other sources as well: - I found this from Psilence on nexusmods Be sure to disable the auto-update feature as well, obviously. I downgraded to version 10.5.4 since that was the most recent version I found that wouldn't automatically update to the "latest version" when using the Origin installer. I don't use Origin for anything besides SWBF2, so I don't know if using an older client might cause problems for other games, but SWBF2 seems to be working fine. In the meantime though, since the Origin update was what caused the problem, I found that you can get mods working again by just uninstalling Origin and reinstalling an older version of the Origin client. Not sure if FrostyModManager itself will need to be updated before mods will work again with the latest Origin, or how long that will take. The first method is full proof, but you have to sacrifice having Epic installed.Īlso ran into the issue of Origin's update breaking my mods, searched for several hours to find a solution (deleting ModData folder, reinstalling FrostyModManager, etc.) but none of them worked. This method seems to be less consistent, but it has worked for 2 people thus far. ![]() Alternatively, if you want to keep Epic installed, you may have luck if you follow the steps above to wipe Epic from your system, then do the same process with Frosty Mod manager, then re-install frosty, run it through steam, THEN reinstall epic. Double check them all to make sure you don't have another file(s) with 'epic' anywhere in their name, and then delete them all. Then you need to go to file explorer, find which drive you had Epic installed on (Usually your C:/ drive) and in the search bar in the upper right search for "Epic" give it a minute and wait for all of the files Epic left on your computer to show up. ![]() Simply put, you need to FULLY removed Epic from your system, as even when uninstalled Epic is sneaky and keeps a bunch of files saved. Ok so I have extensively worked with this issue at this point, since I tried to mod BF2 on Epic's free version before my steam version.
